How Order Connect Works with POS and Receipts

Orders Received via Order Connect

  1. Once online orders take place through a third-party (Grubhub, Uber Eats, etc.), then Order Connect will transmit to POS:
    1. If the Auto Accept Order toggle in Back Office Order Connect Settings is enabled (set to YES): Orders will automatically be accepted and the predefined Prep Time is applied
    2. Once received in POS under Active Orders: you will be able to update the Status, regardless of whether the system is online or offline.

  2. Once the check is received in POS, the Check can be accepted and opened, or it can be declined.
    1. The check cannot be altered at any point in the POS.

Notes:

  1. Discounts within Linga will not apply to Orders from Order Connect.
  2. Serving Size: Only one Serving Size will be applicable to one Menu Item. We cannot add multiple serving sizes for a single item. If the user wants to add another serving size for a particular menu, then he needs to create a new Menu Item with another serving size.
  3. Availability and Restriction Time will not apply to menu items in Order Connect. The timing will be displayed based on the Store Opening and Closing Hours. The Menu Item can be restricted by enabling the Hide Menu Item in Online Order toggle.
  4. Modifiers: Below are the modifier changes that need to be made specifically for Order Connect integration
  5. Modifier groups must be unique for mandatory & optional (E.g. Modifier group A cannot be available in both mandatory & optional. It can be either mandatory or optional) i.e., use separate modifier group for mandatory and optional modifiers. Eg: If we use one modifier group as a mandatory modifier then that modifier group can’t use as optional modifier groups but we can use this as a mandatory modifier as other menu items.
    1. You can't add the same modifier to the different groups of mandatory and optional modifiers (due to duplicate)
    2. When a modifier is used as optional modifier group, the same modifier can't be used as a mandatory modifier for the same menu item.
      1. Eg: Assume Pizza is a menu item having optional and mandatory modifier group. Here Cheese is a modifier, and it is used as optional modifier, and the same cheese should not assign to mandatory modifier for the same menu item Pizza.
    3. Included Modifiers will not apply to Order Connect.
    4. Minimum & Maximum quantities will be applied to modifier groups. Here, the same modifier can be chosen multiple times based on the min/max configuration in modifier group.
  6. Order Connect orders do not support Prefixes.
  7. Order Connect Driver: When any order is placed through Order Connect as delivery with driver partner, then automatically the order will be assigned directly to Drivers (where driver will reach the store and pick up the order and deliver the same to the end customer)
  8. With reference to the Order ID number, the Order Connect driver will reach the store and pick up the order and deliver the same to the end customer (when order is picked up from the store by Order Connect driver then the order will be moved to Complete tab).
  9. When a driver is assigned, the Driver Status will be handled by Order Connect.
  10. Order Connect now supports Half and Half Pizza functionality (see the attached document). For more information on Half and Half Pizza, click here.

Notifications

If Auto Acceptance is Disabled

  1. A pop-up with sound will be displayed only on the dedicated terminal but not on other devices. The pop-up will display the order summary, including Check Number, Order Details, and Price with Accept or Decline buttons.

  1. Alternatively, a notification dropdown will be displayed. If there are multiple orders then they will appear in the Notification list. The oldest pending order will appear first in the list with Order Summary along with the Timer which is useful when needing to respond to a request within your desired timeframe.
  1. The Order Summary will contain almost all check details: including Order Type, Order Date & Time, Amount, Check Information, and Delivery Type.

  2. Upon responding (Accepted/Declined), the order will be removed from the notification list regardless of the response type. The notification will remain visible until you respond.
    1. If the request is not responded to within the configured timeframe (e.g. 15 min), it will be considered Declined. This behavior will be verified against the existing Online Ordering flow.

  3. Notifications will not appear on the Payment screen.

  4. If the POS is in offline mode, Order requests will be automatically declined.

  5. The decline reason will be captured (whether it is auto declined due to timeout, offline mode, or manually declined by an employee).

  6. Also capture the User ID and Date & Time for audit purposes.

Accept

  1. Accepted orders will be moved to both:
    1. Phone/Web Orders > New
    2. Check Status > Active
  2. Upon acceptance, the order details will be sent to the Kitchen. The first accepted check will be sent to the Kitchen regardless of the order receipt time.

Decline

  1. Declined orders will be moved to Check Status > Void.

  2. Upon decline, the order will be voided and reflected in both Void Transactions and the Void reports in the Back Office (BO).
  3. The other options such as Pay, Cancel, Edit will be restricted as is consistent with other online ordering features.

Receipts

When an Order Connect order is received from the POS but the Kitchen Printer is online, the system will automatically generate a Kitchen Receipt.
