Retail Back Office: Linga Admin - Announcements



Navigation: Log in BO Admin, then select Announcement

The Announcements page displays a listing of new information such as software updates for iPad, Web POS, Back Office, etc.  when logging into Stores or Accounts during the Announcement's allotted timeframe. The table displays the following columns:

  1. Name: The name of the new feature update in any of services like Web POS, iPad, BO and Subscription.
  2. From: The start of when the announcement will appear.
  3. To: The end of when the announcement will appear.
  4. Down arrow (v): Click the arrow to reveal the detailed explanation of the update.
  5. Actions: Contains the Edit (pencil) and Delete (trash can) button.


Create or Update an Announcement
  1. Click + New Announcement to create an Announcement (or the corresponding Edit (pencil) to update an Announcement. The New/Update Announcement page appears.
    1. Note: Except the Image field, all other fields are mandatory to create a new announcement.


  2. Announcement Image: You can upload an image (if needed) for the Announcement.
  3. Name: (Mandatory) The name of the new update. There is no character restriction.
  4. From Date/Time: (Mandatory) The date (calendar view) and time (clock view) the announcement will begin to appear.
    1. Note: You can select only today’s date or a later date. Must be prior to the To date.
  5. To Date/Time: (Mandatory) The final date (calendar view) and time (clock view) the announcement will appear.
    1. Note: You can select only today’s date or a later date. Must be after the From date.
    2. Note: From and To can't be a past date and can't be identical dates.
  6. Announcement Content: a large text box for entering a detailed explanation of the update. There is no character restriction.

  7. When ready, click Save or Update. You are returned to the main Announcements page where the confirmation will appear at the upper-right.
    1. The button will be enabled only when all mandatory fields are filled-in.
    2. If Cancel or X Close, you are returned to the Announcements page without creating/updating the Announcement.



Delete an Announcement
  1. Identify the Announcement to delete, then under Actions select the corresponding Delete (trash can) button.

  2. The Delete pop up appears, with Delete and X Close / Cancel options.
     
  3. Select Delete, the Announcement will be deleted and moved to Inactive status.
    1. Select X Close / Cancel to return to the main Announcements screen without any changes.
