Retail POS: Item Based Redemption

Back Office

  1. Customer Level Loyalty must be enabled (see the Customer Info Knowledge Article).

  2. Loyalty Discount must be configured (see the Enterprise Settings Knowledge Article and the Item Based Discounts Knowledge Article).

POS

For a Customer with Loyalty:
  1. When they're selected in POS, their Loyalty will be to the right of their name as a clickable button.

  2. Click the Loyalty button and the Customer Rewards screen appears, which shows the Total Balance to the right and a breakdown of the items eligible to be purchased (configured in Back Office) organized by the currency value to redeem the items.

  3. When a Retail Item selected, a pop-up appears displaying the amount of points to be redeemed on the Item for this Customer. Select Redeem to confirm the point redemption for the item.
    1. By clicking the Cancel option, the pop up will be closed without redeeming the points.

  4. When Redeem is selected, points will be redeemed and the Order screen appears.

Notes:

  1. On the Order screen, Loyalty Points will be updated once points have been redeemed.
  2. Loyalty points will be increased for every sale made for the selected customer who has redeemed the item-based discounts. (See the Back Office Enterprise Settings Article).
  3. Multiple loyalty discounts can be applied in single receipt for respective customer for different Retail Items.

  4. Other type of discounts can be redeemed alongside loyalty-based only when the Combine With Other Discount toggle is enabled (see the Item Based Discount Article).

  5. Loyalty points can't be used to make layaway payments.

  6. If a Loyalty Point payment is voided, then the points will be added back to the customer's total.

  7. If a customer has loyalty points in both Restaurant and Retail, their combined loyalty points will appear as a single value.

Refunds

  1. For a Refund on a $10 receipt:
    1. If $5 is paid in cash and $5 in loyalty then $10 will be refunded as Cash.
    2. If $5 is paid in card and $5 in loyalty then $10 will be refunded as Cash.
    3. If $5 is paid in cash and $5 in card then on the Refund screen both cash and card will be displayed, and you can select the respective payment to refund.
      1. Example: if Cash is selected it will be grayed out but the screen won't be closed until you select the other payment.

  2. For an Exchange, the customer cannot be changed. Loyalty points will be added in the Exchange Pay By screen.
