POS: Check Options - Issuing or Recharging a Gift Card



A Gift Card is a prepaid stored-value money card, usually issued by a Retailer to be used as an alternative to Cash for purchases within a particular Store or related businesses.

To issue a Gift Card / GiveX Card or to recharge the Gift Card / GiveX Card.

Note: Only Employees with the proper Role and Permission settings have access to issue Gift Cards or GiveX Cards. Otherwise, the Gift Cards option will be disabled on the Check Options screen.
  1. On the Menu screen, tap on the  Options button at the bottom.

  2. On the Check Options screen, select Gift Card.


  3. The default display (whether Gift Card or GiveX - configured in POS Settings [Operations > POS Settings] - appears.

  4. On the new screen:
    1. Swipe the Gift Card on the Card Reader (if integrated with Linga) or manually enter the Card Number.
    2. Enter the Charge Amount.
    3. Finally, tap on the Done option.

  5. The specific Gift Card / Give X details will be updated on the Order screen.
