POS: Available Time (Discount, Display Groups and Upcharges)




The Availability section on the following pages will function identically to the Menu Items Availability section (select an option under Contents).


Discounts

Navigation: Login to BO and select a Store, then navigate to Products / Items > Discounts

Availability

For the Availability: you can configure a Discount to be available during specific Dates and Times. Select the applicable Time Period, so that the respective Discount will appear on the POS based on the selection.
  1. Always: When selected, this Discount can always be applied.


  2. Days of Week: When selected, select the Day(s) of the week (you can select more than one Day).
    1. To set a time frame for the Discount to be Restricted: Enable the Restriction Time toggle (set to YES) then select the Start Time and End Time (clock view) when the Discount should be unavailable.
    1. To set a time frame for the Discount to be Available: Enable the Available Time toggle (set to YES) then select the Start Time and End Time (clock view) when the Discount should be available. You can add/delete the available time based on your preference.
    1. Both Available Time and Restriction Time can be set here.

    2. Note: You can’t select a Time for a Day which is already assigned. If a particular Time for a Day is assigned for Available Time, then the same Time cannot be applied as a Restriction Time and vice-versa.


  1. Days of Month: When selected, select the Days of a Month then select the appropriate Date. Once the Date is chosen, then select the appropriate Month i.e., either Restriction Month or Available Month or both (you can select more than one Month).
    1. After choosing the month(s) (for Available and/or Restriction), select the Time Period for Available and Restriction Time. Select the Start and End Time for Restriction/Available Time. You can edit the Restriction Time and can add/delete the Available Time based on your preference.
    1. Note: You can’t select the same time for both Available and Restriction Time periods.


  1. Date Range: Select the Start Date and End Date (calendar view )along with the Month and Year. Once selected, the Restriction Days or Available Days or both can be selected.
    1. Then select the appropriate Time Period to which the Discount should be Available or Restricted i.e., the user should select the Available Time or Restriction Time or both. You can edit the Restriction Time and add/delete the Available Time based on your preference.


    2. Note: You can’t select the same Time for both Available and Restriction Time periods.


  1. Specific Date: Select the specific Select Date (calendar view) along with the Month and Year. Then select the appropriate Restriction Time or Available Time or both (select the Start Time and End Time). You can edit the Restriction Time and add/delete the Available Time based on your preference.

    1. Note: You can’t select the same time for both Available and Restriction Time period.


  1. Date Range with Time: Select the Date Range (Start and End Date) for the Discount then set the Available Times (Start and End) for it to appear in the POS. You can add/delete Time(s) based on your preference.


    1. Select the Restriction and/or Available Day(s). A specific Day cannot be both Available and Restriction.


    2. To Restrict time for the Discount not to be visible in the POS: enable the Restriction Time toggle then select the Start Time and End Time when this Discount should be restricted.


    3. Note: You can’t select the same Time for both Available and Restriction Time periods.


POS

The respective Discount will appear in the POS only during the Available Time(s) configured in the Back Office. On the Restricted Time, the Discount won’t be visible in the POS.

Example: If a Discount called Auto Discount is set in BO with an Available Time from 3:00pm to 5:00pm then Auto Discount will be visible in POS only during the Available Time.
  1. Scenario 1: If a check is opened at 4:59 pm with the Auto Discount applied, and payment is completed at 5:02 pm, the Discount will still be applied to that check as it was applied within the Available Time.
  2. Scenario 2: If a check is opened at 4:59 pm without the Auto Discount applied, the Auto Discount won’t be accessible starting from 5:00 pm regardless of whether the payment has been completed.


Online Ordering (OLO)

The respective Promo Code will be applied in the OLO only during the Available Time configured in the Back Office. The promo code/loyalty discount won’t be valid before or after the specified Time, and the message ‘Selected Promo Code is not valid at this time’ will be displayed in OLO.
  1. For Manual discounts: if a Promo Code is entered during the Restriction hours, then the alert message appears (this doesn’t apply to Auto discounts).
  2. For Auto discounts: if the availability window has expired, and the Quantity of the Item is increased or the same Menu Item is added again, any previously applied Discount will be automatically removed.



Call Center

The respective Promo Code will be applied in the Call Center only during the Available Time configured in the Back Office. The promo code/loyalty discount will not be valid before or after the specified time in the Back Office, and the alert message ‘Selected Promo Code is not valid at this time’ will be displayed in the Call Center.
  1. For Manual discounts: if a Promo Code is entered during the Restriction hours, then the alert message appears (this doesn’t apply to Auto discounts).
  2. For Auto discount: if the availability window has expired, any previously applied discount will be automatically removed when the user increases the quantity of the item or adds the same Menu Item again.

Kiosk

The respective Promo Code will be applied to the Kiosk only during the Available Time configured in the Back Office. The Promo Code won’t be valid before or after the specified Time in the Back Office, and the message ‘Selected Promo Code is not valid at this time’ will be displayed in the Kiosk.

Note: The above-mentioned changes reflect in
Item Based, Check Based and Mix & Match discounts.



Upcharges

Navigation: Login to BO and select a Store, then select Products/Items > Upcharges

Availability

You can configure Upcharges to be available during specific Dates and Times. Select the applicable Time Period when respective Upcharge will be available: 
  1. Always: This Upcharge can always be applied.

  1. Days of Week: Select the Day(s) of the week the Upcharge should be available. Both Available Time and Restriction Time can be set here.

    1. To set time restriction on the Upcharge appearing in POS: enable the Restriction Time toggle (set to YES) then select the Start and End Times when this Upcharge should be restricted from being available.

    2. To set time availability on the Upcharge appearing in POS: enable the Available Time toggle (set to YES) then select the Start and End Times when this Upcharge should be available. You can add/delete the Available Time based on need.

    3. Note: You can’t select the same Time for both Available and Restriction Time periods.

  2. Days of Month: Select the Days of Month then the appropriate Date. Once the Date is chosen, select the appropriate Restriction and/or Available Month(s).


    1. After selecting the Available/Restriction Months, select the Time Period (Start and End) for Available and Restriction Time. You can edit the Restriction Time and add/delete the Available Time based on need.

  5. Date Range with Time: Select the Date Range. Then select the Start and End Times of the Available Time(s) for the Upcharge to appear in POS. You can add/delete the Available Time based on need.

    1. Select the Restriction and/or Available Days. Note: You can’t select a Day to be both Available and Restriction.

    2. You can set the Restriction Time for the Upcharge not to be visible in the POS. Enable the Restriction Time toggle then select the Start and End Times when this item should be restricted.

    3. Note: You can’t select the same Time for both Available and Restriction Time periods.


POS

The respective Upcharge will appear in the POS only during the Available Time configured in the Back Office (BO). On the Restricted Time, the Upcharge won’t appear in the POS.


Example: If an Upcharge is set in BO with Available Time from 3:00pm to 5:00pm then the Upcharge will appear only then.
  1. Scenario 1: If a Check is opened at 4:59pm with the Upcharge applied and payment is completed after 5:02 pm, the Upcharge will still be applied to that Check as it was applied within the Available Time.
  2. Scenario 2: If a Check is opened at 4:59pm without the Upcharge being applied, the Upcharge won’t be accessible starting from 5:00 pm.


Display Group

Navigation: Login to BO for your Store, then select Products/Items > Display Group

Availability

You can configure Display Groups to be available during specific Dates and Times. Select the applicable Time Period when respective Display Groups will be available:

  1. Always: This Display Group can always be applied.


  2. Days of Week: Select the Day(s) of the week the Display Group should be available. Both Available Time and Restriction Time can be set here.

    1. To set time restriction on the Display Group appearing in POS: enable the Restriction Time toggle (set to YES) then select the Start and End Times when this Display Group should be restricted from being available.

    2. To set time availability on the Display Group appearing in POS: enable the Available Time toggle (set to YES) then select the Start and End Times when this Display Group should be available. You can add/delete the Available Time based on need.

    3. Note: You can’t select the same Time for both Available and Restriction Time periods.

  3. Days of Month: Select the Days of Month then the appropriate Date. Once the Date is chosen, select the appropriate Restriction and/or Available Month(s).

  6. Date Range with Time: Select the Date Range. Then select the Start and End Times of the Available Time(s) for the Display Group to appear in POS. You can add/delete the Available Time based on need.

    1. Select the Restriction and/or Available Days. Note: You can’t select a Day to be both Available and Restriction.

    2. You can set the Restriction Time for the Display Group not to be visible in the POS. Enable the Restriction Time toggle then select the Start and End Times when this item should be restricted.

    3. Note: You can’t select the same Time for both Available and Restriction Time periods.


POS

The respective Display Group will appear in the POS only during the Available Time configured in BO. On the Restricted Time, the Display Group won’t appear in the POS.

Example: If a Display Group is set in BO with Available Time from 3:00pm to 5:00pm then the Display Group will be visible only during the Available Time.
  1. Scenario 1: If a Check is open at 4:59 pm with the Display Group applied then payment is completed after 5:02pm, the Display Group will still be accessible to that Check as it was selected within the Available Time.
  2. Scenario 2: If a Check is open at 4:59 pm without the Display Group being selected, the Display Group won’t be accessible starting from 5:00 pm regardless of whether the Payment has been completed.

CDS Advertisement

Navigation: Login to BO then select Enterprise > Settings > CDS Advertisement

  1. Always: This CDS Advertisement (CDSA) can always be applied.


  2. Days of Week: Select the Day(s) of the week the CDSA should be available. Both Available Time and Restriction Time can be set here.

    1. To set time restriction on the CDSA appearing in POS: enable the Restriction Time toggle (set to YES) then select the Start and End Times when this CDSA should be restricted from being available.

    2. To set time availability on the CDSA appearing in POS: enable the Available Time toggle (set to YES) then select the Start and End Times when this CDSA should be available. You can add/delete the Available Time based on need.

    3. Note: You can’t select the same Time for both Available and Restriction Time periods.

  3. Days of Month: Select the Days of Month then the appropriate Date. Once the Date is chosen, select the appropriate Restriction and/or Available Month(s).


    1. After selecting the Available/Restriction Months, select the Time Period (Start and End) for Available and Restriction Time. You can edit the Restriction Time and add/delete the Available Time based on need.

  5. Specific Date: Select the specific Date (calendar view). Then select the Time Period (Start and End) for Available and Restriction Time. You can edit the Restriction Time and add/delete the Available Time based on need.

    1. Note: You can’t select the same Time for both Available and Restriction Time periods.

  6. Date Range with Time: Select the Date Range. Then select the Start and End Times of the Available Time(s) for the CDSA to appear in POS. You can add/delete the Available Time based on need.
    1. Select the Restriction and/or Available Days. Note: You can’t select a Day to be both Available and Restriction.
    2. You can set the Restriction Time for the CDSA not to be visible in the POS. Enable the Restriction Time toggle then select the Start and End Times when this item should be restricted.
    3. Note: You can’t select the same Time for both Available and Restriction Time periods.

CDS

The respective Advertisement will appear in the CDS only during the Available Time configured in the BO. On the Restricted Time, the Advertisement won’t appear on the CDS. Advertisements appear only during the configured Available Time. Advertisements are hidden during any Restriction Time set in the BO.
  1. Always - Advertisements are always visible.
  2. Days of Week - Advertisements appear only on those Days within the Available Time.
  3. Days of Month – Advertisements appear only on selected Days/Months and Times.
  4. Date Range - Advertisements appear only during those Dates and Times.
  5. Specific Date - Advertisements appear only during those Dates and Times.
  6. Date Range with Time - Advertisements appear only on selected Days and Times within the Date Range.
  7. Advertisements will not appear during Restriction Times applied to any selected Days or Date Ranges.
  8. The POS system syncs with the BO Advertisement schedule in near realtime.

Note:

  1. This applies to Android-to-Android and IOS-to-IOS, but does not apply to IOS-to-Android.
