Back Office

Navigation: Log into BO, select a Store, then select Product/Items > New Menu Item
You can set the Kitchen Printer for a Menu Item. If a Kitchen Printer is configured, it will be available for selection.

Example: if the TSP 100 printer is selected and a Menu Item is ordered in POS, the Kitchen Receipt will be generated from that Printer - provided it is Online.
POS
On the Hardware Settings page, select the Printer Settings tab. It displays the list of Printers configured in the Back Office - with their Status (Online or Offline), Name and IP Address.
You can select only one Printer at a time.
The languages configured in the Back Office will appear as options for the Printing Language dropdown. Select a Language, and the receipt will be printed in that language.
The Name and IP Address of the Printer device which is connected to the POS will appear here.
USB Receipt Printer
If the toggle is enabled: the system detects any printer connected to the POS using USB will be displayed here. Print commands are sent to it, allowing receipts to be printed.

If disabled: the POS will not send print commands to USB printers, allowing the use of other printer configurations - such as IP-based printers. If the USB printer is not available, the message 'USB Printer is not Available’ appears.

Enable a Bluetooth Printer
To select a Bluetooth printer: Bluetooth must be enabled in POS
Navigation: Log into POS then select Settings > Hardware Settings > Printer Settings
- Select a USB/Bluetooth printer will be available.
- For Bluetooth printers, the following options will be available in the dropdown by default: BLE, START BT, and STAR USB.
- Select an option. The selected Printer will have a check mark appear adjacent to it.

Connect a Bluetooth Printer
This section allows you to choose the type of Printer connection to configure for printing Receipts, Kitchen orders and other Receipts.
Note: The Printer must be in Pairing mode.
- Select an option (such as BLE [Bluetooth Low Energy]) from the dropdown.

Select an available Printer from the list.
Note: You may have to scroll down to see the printers).

The receipts will be generated.
Scenario: Cash Drawer Open
On the Check Option screen, select Open Cash Drawer. The Cash Drawer will open automatically.

- Log in to POS, select Menu Item(s), then complete the Payment using Cash payment. The cash drawer will open automatically.

Log in to POS, place an Order then complete the Payment.

- After payment is completed, the message check got closed successfully will appear and the Receipt will be automatically printed.

Print Included Modifier in Kitchen
Print Voided Items to the Kitchen
In POS: whenever an Item is voided, the details of the voided item(s) will be printed on the Kitchen Printer.
Alternate Printer
If the Kitchen Printer and Label Printer are offline, then an Alternate Printer will be available for Printing which can be set in BO while creating a Kitchen Printer.
Back Office
POS
Log in to POS, then select the Menu Item(s). The Order will be printed in the Kitchen.
If the Kitchen Printer, Driver Printer and Label Printer are offline, then the Order will be sent to the Alternate Printer which was mapped in BO. Then the Printer pop-up with the message ‘Unable to connect [Printer Name]. Hence the printing will be continued in [Alternate Printer Name]’ appears.
Example: If the Connected Printer SP700 is offline then the Alternate Printer M30 is connected: the pop-up appears.

In the back-end: a check will be performed 3 times, then connect to the Alternate Printer in POS.
Send Order to The Kitchen
When finished placing an Order and ready to send to the Kitchen for preparation:
Tap on the Order option. The Order will be finalized and sent to the Kitchen to be prepared. A green check mark ✓ will appear on the Order screen, denoting that the details have been sent to the Kitchen.
The Receipt will be generated on the Alternate Printer. The Printer pop-up with the alert message ‘Unable to Connect [Kitchen Printer 1 Name]. Hence the printing will be continued in [Kitchen Printer 2 Name]’ appears.
Select OK, and the pop-up will be closed.
KDS
If an Alternate Printer is set in KDS from BO and a Menu Item is ordered in POS:
If the Printer is online, then the Receipt is generated.
If the Printer is offline, then the Check Number did not print to the Printer, then the IP Address pop-up message will appear (Android and iOS only).

If the Printer is offline, then the Printer is offline, the ‘unable to print’
pop-up appears (Web only).
Alternate Printer is Offline
When finished placing the Order and ready to send to the Kitchen for preparation:
Tap on the Order option. The Order will be finalized and sent to the Kitchen for preparation.
A green check mark ✓ will be displayed on the Order screen denoting that the details have been sent to the kitchen.
If a Default Printer Type as a Star printer model is set in BO, then the alert message ‘Unable to Connect [Kitchen Printer 1 Name]. Hence the printing will be continued in [Kitchen Printer 2 Name]. Fail to openPort Error code: -1 (Failed)’ will appear. Click OK to close the alert.
If it did not print, a pop-up with the message ‘Check number (Check Number) did not print to printer (Printer IP Address)’. Select OK to close the pop-up.
Notes:
The pop-up message will appear in all screens in POS - ensuring that it appears on the screen that is currently being viewed.
This will apply to the Kitchen, Driver and Label printers.
The Alternate Printer will be implemented for Kitchen Labels and Box Labels, supporting both printer type Zebra and Epson Label Printer models.
Star Printer - TSP100
Your system must support the Star TSP100 printer model for both Receipt and Kitchen printing in Back Office (BO) and POS.
Back Office
To add a TSP100 Printer, enter the following information under Kitchen Printer Settings:

Printer Name: Enter the printer’s name.
IP Address: Enter the printer’s IP Address.
Select Printer Model: Select Star-TSP100 from the dropdown.
Set as Default: If enabled (set to YES), this Receipt Printer will be set as the default.
POS
Navigation: Log in POS then select POS Settings > Hardware Settings > Printer Settings
The Printer Settings page contains a list of Names and IP Addresses of the printer devices configured in BO - as well as their Status (Online/Offline).
- Select a configured Printer device that’s Online. The selected device will be marked with a check mark ✓.
If a selected Printer is Offline, the message ‘Printer is not available’ appears.

If a Printer model is not selected in Printer Settings in POS, but an Order is placed and the Print option is selected: the ‘Select the Receipt Printer in Operation/Hardware Settings’ pop up message appears.
